Two of the biggest overseas stars in Pakistan Super League 6, West Indian Chris Gayle and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, , have left for home because of international commitments after playing in just two matches. Both the players had a brilliant start in the tournament as Gayle made a half-century and Rashid Khan was influential in Lahore’s rise at the top of the PSL points table.
The number one T20I bowler in the world, the Afghanistan superstar was plying in Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament for the first time in his career. He was picked by the Lahore Qalandars as a platinum player in the players’ draft. He left the Qalandars team after playing just two games of the tournament. The reason behind this is the upcoming Test series of two matches against Zimbabwe in the UAE next month.
While the West Indies legend had only made himself available for part of the competition and, after meagre returns from his only two previous appearances in Pakistan “I am glad to be playing cricket at this particular time,” he said. “Playing during this particular time is a blessing. Hopefully, things can get better in the future. It’s good to be in Pakistan after 15 years. “It’s fantastic! I did not get a full house based on restrictions, but it was good to see some people. It was good to have a blast. I am looking forward to continuing playing in Pakistan.”
