Imad Wasim confident for PSL 8 despite Babar Azam absence
All-rounder Imad Wasim was gearing up for the 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and spoke about his team’s plans in a recent podcast. He stated that the Karachi Kings would focus on playing as a team and aim to bring an aggressive approach to the tournament.
Despite the absence of Babar Azam, the Karachi Kings’ captain brushed off concerns saying,
“Players come and go, it’s not a big deal.”
He acknowledged Babar’s talent as a world-class cricketer but emphasized that the team always comes first. Imad also wished Babar well in his new franchise. Reflecting on his captaincy role, Imad said,
“There’s no regret from past experiences. Now that the responsibility is back, we will try to present a better game as a team.”
In the previous edition, the Karachi Kings had a rough run, winning only one out of 10 games under Babar’s captaincy and missing out on the playoffs.
The Karachi Kings’ first match of PSL 8 will be against Babar’s new team, the Peshawar Zalmi, on February 14th at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
