PCB’s Alternate Plan for PSL’s Punjab Leg: Plan B
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced an alternate plan, known as Plan B, to tackle the ongoing dispute between the PCB and the interim government of Punjab over security costs for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 matches to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
PCB’s Plan B involves shifting the matches to Karachi if the interim government of Punjab refuses to lower the security cost. This move will ensure that the PSL continues without any further delays or disruption.
Background
The Punjab government had demanded a staggering amount of Rs. 500 million for security arrangements for the matches to be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi, which the PCB and the PSL franchises found exorbitant.
Plan B
Under PCB’s Plan B, Lahore will host the Sunday and Monday matches as scheduled, after which the Lahore matches will be moved to Karachi. Some of the matches in Rawalpindi may also be shifted to Karachi.
The PCB has decided not to fulfill the costly demands of the Punjab government and will move forward with Plan B if necessary.

PCB’s Next Move
The PCB team, led by Usman Wahla, will leave for Karachi tomorrow to make the necessary arrangements for the shifting of venues from Punjab, should the interim government of Punjab refuse to show flexibility in its demands.
