Wahab aims to make a comeback to the national side through PSL 8
Wahab Riaz, the pacer for Peshawar Zalmi, recently shared his purpose for participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8. In an interview with Geo.tv, Wahab revealed that he aims to return to the national side by performing well and grabbing the selectors’ attention. He stated that the PSL is a platform in that every player wants to excel, and he is no different.
“I also keep myself active by playing leagues. I am still fit and playing cricket, and now I have to perform wherever I get a chance,” he added.
Wahab, who was recently named to the Punjab government’s caretaker cabinet, also discussed his new position, saying that he plans to do something for other sports besides cricket. He believes there is a need to do more for the Olympics and other games, including hockey, squash, and badminton. His goal is to organize more tournaments and provide incentives to the players.

Wahab remains confident in Peshawar Zalmi’s success in PSL 8
Despite being replaced as captain of Peshawar Zalmi after Babar Azam joined the team, Wahab has high hopes for the Yellow Storm’s success in the ongoing PSL season. He mentioned that the team has started well and formed a good combination. He is confident that they will continue to perform well. For Wahab, it is not about who performs but how he performs.
Wahab unfazed by Iftikhar Ahmed’s six sixes in exhibition match
When asked about getting hit for six maximums in a row by Iftikhar Ahmed during an exhibition match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in Quetta, Wahab remained unfazed. He credited Iftikhar Ahmed for being in great form and hitting six sixes. He stated that the performance in the PSL is what truly matters.
